Broccoli Salad

There is nothing I like more than a quick, easy and delicious salad that does not require cooking!

This is a recipe that I have perfected over the years for my family. The kids love it as well as the adults. It is perfect for any occasion and takes very little preparation. There are many variations of broccoli salad, but from experience, this one is sure to win over anyone. Here is a list of what you will need.

1 lb bacon (cooked and chopped)
2 heads broccoli (chopped small)
1 bunch green onion (chopped)
1 cup croutons (set a side)

Optional Ingredients

1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup raisins

Dressing

1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbsp vinegar

* If you want to use bacon bits make sure to use the "recipe" bacon bits because they are bigger pieces.

Begin by washing all the fresh ingredients. Next chop the broccoli, green onion, and bacon. Mix them together in a big mixing bowl (add the optional ingredients if desired). In a small bowl mix together the mayonnaise, sugar and vinegar. When those ingredients are mixed well, scrape the dressing into the big mixing bowl with a spatula and mix with the rest of your ingredients. Once all of the ingredients are mixed well, scrape the salad into a serving bowl. Cover and refrigerate until you are ready to serve. Before serving, top it off with the croutons. This broccoli salad will be a pleaser!
